Optical Fibre Cable
Non-Metallic Flame-Retardant Armoured Cable
GYFTZA53
FRP central member · flame retardant · double sheath · 2–144 fibres
A non-metallic core with an FRP central strength member and flame-retardant compounds throughout, finished with a double sheath. For tunnels, shafts and building entries where a fire performance class has to be met and metal is unwelcome.
Key features
- Good mechanical and thermal performance
- FRP central strength member
- Hydrolysis resistant loose tube
- Tube filling compound ensures critical protection of fiber
- Specially designed stranded compact structure eliminating contraction of tubes
- LSZH sheath ensuring good flame-retardant performance
- Crush resistance and flexibility

The fibers are positioned in loose tubes that are made of high-modulus plastic and filled with tube gel. The tubes (and fillers) are stranded around a non-metallic central strength member to form a cable core. The core is filled with water blocking compound and is armored with laminated aluminum tape(APL). Then the cable core is covered with PE inner sheath. After the steel tape is longitudinally armored over the inner jacket, the cable is completed with a LSZH outer jacket.
